With nearly fifty years of combined experience in the production of films, television shows, and special events, we’ve had the privilege of collaborating with the most prominent figures in entertainment.​

We began collecting celebrity autographs and building our industry relationships while employed by Central Casting, working on the movies and TV shows produced in Los Angeles in the early 2000s.

 

VIP started out as an online database for screen-used movie props,

catering exclusively to those who worked in the movie industry.

Through our connections, we verified that autographed props were sourced directly from the studios or were acquired in person by dedicated crew members, making sure the provenance and authenticity were unquestionable. ​

 

​In 2016 we began offering complimentary hologram-embedded COA cards personalized with the celebrity's name, for any props, 

photos, or other items that we had witnessed being signed.

 

When we noticed autographed movie props, scripts, and other unique collectibles—often limited edition items released by the studios—being sold anonymously before the film's debut,

a practice that is against studio regulations, we took the first

website down. All hologram-embedded COA card numbers that were issued before 2016 can be found in our online database.

 

We re-launched VIPAS in 2017 under the VIPauthentic domain and implemented a policy of providing complimentary autograph authentication services and personalized COA cards for any signed item that passed our strict criteria. Membership remained exclusive and by invitation only.

 

In 2018 we offered lifetime memberships to select influencers 

in the entertainment industry and formed the team of experts

that Verified In Person Authentication Services (VIPAS) is today. 

Our experts are current and former members of TMZ, SAG/AFTRA,

or IATSE, and have worked alongside the best in Hollywood.

 

We Are The Pioneers In Implementing Comprehensive Online Authentication Techniques.

 

Our approach enables all VIPAS team members to examine multiple images of the signature and contribute their insights. When a majority of the team concurs that the signature is genuine,

a COA card personalized with the celebrity’s name is issued,

and the item's information is entered into our online database.

 

We quietly unveiled our online authentication service publicly

at CinemaCon in 2019.  Guests were given VIP invitations and asked to upload photos of their autographed item in order to receive a complimentary VIPCOA card.  And the response was overwhelming.

​Even signed memorabilia that had already been authenticated

by other services was submitted to receive the new VIPAS holo card.

 

Later that year, we began offering live autograph authentication at awards shows, premieres, and film festivals.  In-person cards were distributed until 2020, and by 2023 VIP Authentication Services had examined over 100,000 items online for collectors worldwide.

In 2025, we re-branded back to our original domain name, coavip.com, and added sports authentication services for signed memorabilia, specializing in movie-sports-documentary tie-ins. 

 

Today, C O A V I P Inc. is considered by many collectors to be the "go-to" authenticators for their signed entertainment memorabilia.
